According to Company, the personal information of company has been accessed by an anonymous hacker as he broke into company’s internal computer systems. On November 4th, 2016 Casino Rama Resort get to know about this incident when the hacker informed them about this incident. He claimed that all the important information about the company and its employees have been stolen by him.

According to Casino Rama Resort, all the information related to employees which have been taken by them between 2004 and 2016 is at risk. On the other hand, all the information related to the company which has been stored by them from 2007 to 2016 is also at risk. 2016 is the year of data breaches because a number of databases have been breached by hackers including big companies like LinkedIn, Tumblr, DropBox, MySpace, Verizon Communications ,Weebly and much more. But this one looks more damaging because hacker stole the data and company have no information about it.
Response of "Casino Rama Resort" Operators?
When Penn National Gaming, Inc came to know about this data breach, they immediately contact OPP (Ontario Provincial Police). Moreover, they informed Royal Canadian Mounted Police, AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario) and OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation). They also informed Privacy Commissioner of Ontario and Privacy Commissioner of Canada. A team of Cyber Security experts has also been hired by Casino operator to look into this cyber-attack.
How did it happen?
The company said that hacker managed to broke into its internal system through the official website of “Casino Rama Resort”. The only website of Casino Rama Resort is linked with its internal systems, rest of the services are using separate servers and computer systems. The security team of Casino Rama Resort is taking help from cyber security experts to investigate this cyber-attack. Nobody knows how the hacker managed to access the information. Hacker could leak the stolen information online which may lead the company to a huge risk.
"It seems a ransom attack, in which hacker is demanding ransom from the company for not publishing the stolen data online. But the company didn’t say anything about it."
