Data Breach of US Homeland Security! 200 GB data is at risk!
By accessing an email account of DHS's (Department of Homeland Security) employee, a hacker steal 200GB data. Records of 20,000 FBI employees and 9000 Homeland Security employees are included in it. On a twitter account, yesterday someone release 9,000 names of employees which are working in Department of Homeland Security US. In this 200 GB data email addresses, title and contact numbers of employees are included.
The special team of DHS staff is registered under a title “Intelligence”. 100 employees of DHS are its members and their personal information is also in the hands of hacker. Intelligence officers of DHS are experts in their domains like specialists, Infosec and Programming. On the same twitter account data of 20,000 FBI employees also had been posted.
Motherboard said that by accessing email account of an employee, hacker sent an email as a proof to Joseph Cox who is the contributor of Motherboard. Hacker wrote in email that he also has steal data from the systems of DOJ (Department of Justice) but he is not publishing that data. First hacker was trying to gain to access of DOJ systems but after that he successfully logged in into a system of Homeland Security by using Social Engineering Skills and tricks. The intranet of DOJ was in the control of hacker that why he download TB's of data.
It is not clear yet why hacker stole the data of DHS and DOJ. But one thing is clear that he is not doing this for financial benefits. Hacker left only following message after data breach
“This is for the child that is searching for an answer, This is for Palestine, West Bank, Gaza, ramallah” Which are the verses of “Long Live Palestine”
