Your window is at risk if you are not updating iTunes QuickTime!

                           

A lot of users do not run up-to-date versions of Apple programs, researchers come to know about this fact when they installed a survey of applications on window. During the Secunia Research, researchers found that apple's multimedia program, QuickTime and iTunes software are the most "exposed" programs based on risk. Secunia is now a part of Flexera (An American Software Company).

If we talk about the users of United States, 61 percent of computers are still using old version of QuickTime and in the case of iTunes value is 47 percent. There is need to aware users about the flaws of these old versions. This is not the fault of apple in actual. Many software companies alert their users about new versions of application, it's largely up to users to install them.

Flexera’s Personal Software Inspector is a free tool which is used to check that all applications are up to date or not? Above data was collected between October, 2014 through last month using PSI (Personal Software Inspector).This tool has been installed by more than 8 million computers till the day.

There is a great risk from the outdated software to a system. Because outdated software can potentially pose a security risk since unpatched vulnerabilities could be used by hackers to take over a computer. And there are 18 vulnerabilities found by researchers in QuickTime within the last year.

There was an advisory warning of several problems in QuickTime posted by apple in September. This advisory warning prior to 7.7.8 versions of QuickTime for Windows 7 and Vista after it had patched the issues about a month prior. Apple said one of the flaws could be exploited by crafting a malicious file, which "may lead to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution”.

Oracle Java JRE 1.8.x/8.x, Adobe Reader XI 11.x and Adobe Reader X 10.x are also in the list of most exposed programs.
