Forget the $120 IP Box tool, now you can download free tool for brute-forcing iPhone from GitHub. A famous iOS Hacker Majd Alfhaily has released a brute-force tool for iPhones and IPads named Translock.

According to Majd, Translock uses the same technique as used by IP Box to bypass the blockage after 10 failed attempts for PIN. Translock works for Jailbroken iOS Devices only, in order to gain unsigned code execution privilege. Majd wrote a code for this brute-force attack, that loops through every possible 4-digit passcode, starting from 0000 up to 9999. Translock takes around 14 hours at most to try every single PIN Possible, which is very much less than IP Box that takes 111 hours! This is due to the fact that IP Box attempts for a passcode every 40 seconds, while Translock works every 5 seconds to bypass the lock screen.

Majd worked around to delimit the bypassing of lock screen after 10 failed attempts, when he made changes to his code and tried it for everything! Technical Details for the code workaround can be found on his official blog.

Majd announced that he is soon going to release a similar tool for Macs also, that will automate the entire process and send the library to the device over a USB connection.
