Security experts and analysts had obtained a list of more than 350 million accounts credentials from hackers black market from just a three weeks of research.

According to Forbes, there has been double the DDoS events topping 20 GB in the 2014 than 2013 attacks. The list below show the list of the top 5 most brutal cyber attacks in 2014.
In the month of May, there was an attacked made on eBay and the attackers were able to hack more than 230 million of users data. The data like usernames, passwords, addresses, mobile numbers etc. were stolen in this attack. This attack had caused a downfall to eBay security issues. The sensitive data of large number of users were stolen by the attackers. Just after the attack, eBay had asked all its users to change their passwords and also check if there was any financial loss. SEA (Syrian Electronic Army) claimed that they were responsible for it and it was just hacktivist operation and no misuse of data was made.
In November 2014, there was a breach by a group of hackers who had completely shut the server of Sony Pictures Entertainment down. This was the second attack that took place on sony entertainment, previously in August there was an attack on Sony entertainment in this attack the Playstation networks were disabled and a false bomb threat was spread by the attackers on a plane on which high-profile Sony members were present.
Also the attackers claimed that they had access to all the bad deeds of Sony and if the company didn't comply with the attackers requirement then they would leak all the secrets of Sony.
A malware naming "Wire Lurker" had generated a threat among the apple users. Apple has gone through a lots of criticisms this year. In addition to this there were a lots of iCloud leaks which just made it worse for them.
Palo Alto Networks founded this malware and had provided a report informing that more than 500 apps were infected by this malware. This malware was considered as the most powerful attack on Apple this year.
Rex Mundi hacked the website of Domino's stealing more than six lakh French and Belgian customers records. This group had asked for $40,000 from the fast food chain in exchange of the personal data of the clients like phone numbers, emails, addresses and names. And the attacker also threaten the company by saying that if this ransom was not met they would then be publishing all the details online to public. Domino's then asked the customers not to worry as the financial details were not stolen, so the company didn't complied with the ransom. This information was not made out that if it was true or not.
There was attack in these two companies Evernote and Feedly, and it was not made clear that if these two attacks were connected or not. Evernote was taken down by the DDoS attack in the month of June. But the website was restored soon. And then there was an attack made on Feedly on the next day.
