The once popular mail service Microsoft Outlook is the latest one to get caught in the nets of Phishing scam. The users of the service are receiving email as "Microsoft Account Team" with subject as to terminate your account.

The emails contains an attached file in the form of a PDF. The mail states that the account team has received a request to terminate your account but if you had not made any such claim then view the attached file.

The scam is a typical phishing technique where the user receives an email and is entrapped into opening the PDF attached with the mail. After the user opens the PDF, another claim restates the same message written in the mail with a link. The link takes you to a bogus Microsoft Account Login Page which'll ask for the user's details & as soon as the user fills up the details he is then routed to the original Microsoft Webpage with all the details goings straight into the hands of scamsters.

The Cyber Criminals who get hold of the user's details can use all the microsoft services that were available to the user & commit serious frauds leaving the victim to face the consequences.

YouTube users are not untouched!

As we see a lot of "non-technical" users being targeted in the phishing attacks, next we came across a recent Phishing scam going on targeting YouTube users, as YouTube if fairly popular among common people. The YouTube channel owners are receiving emails from scammers threatening them about their channel being hacked!

"Looks like hackers are trying to get access into your YouTube accounts through messages masked as coming from YouTube! This might ask you to update your account information  whatever you do dont reply or click on the link. If you're not sure if the email is legitimate or not, forward it to our Support team!" reads the report on BBTV Network.
