New Trojan found in Google Play Store! More than 60 games are infected!

According to the security researchers of Dr. Web, Google Play Store has been attacked by a new Trojan. The name of the Trojan is “Android.Xiny.19.origin”. This Trojan is targetting more than 60 games available on the Play Store. The securtiy researchers of Dr. Web said that this trojan is capable to see the MAC address, IMEI number, Version of android OS, Network operator and current language from the device of victim. Trojan can send this information to the attacker on a remote server due to its hard coded scripts.

Researchers of Dr. Web said,”The biggest threat of this Trojan Android.Xiny.19.origin is that, cyber criminal behind this Trojan can control the arbitrary .apk files of OS. Criminal can run these files. The malicious code of this trojan has been hide by its controller in a image by using steganography.”

It is not possible for attacker to gain the root access of device, but with the help of this trojan attacker can download different packages of exploits from server and he might use these exploits to gain the root access. Attacker can delete or install new applications in device with the help of exploits.

The games infected by this trojan has been distributed through Fun Color Games,BILLAPPS,Conexagon Studio and many other vendors and developers. The infected games are performing normal behaviour. User have no idea about it because when user will play game trojan will do its work.

To prevent the devices from this Trojan, use of an antivirus is a must. Researchers have ask the users not to install games and applications from Google Play Store in the absence of antivirus.
