The email mentions about the order notification message from the e-commerce giant Amazon. The email is in the form of online generated bill receipt which is usually issued to the user after he/she makes any online purchase through Amazon website. It is a bait that the hackers have developed it to entrap the users into opening the mail & inject malware into the users system. As soon as the user opens the .zip file it displays a .exe file & if the user runs this file, a Trojan gets installed on the users system instantly without even their knowledge. Such Trojans are capable of stealing any personal as well as financial details of the user from their system after the malware has been installed successfully. The data from the victims computer gets instantly transmit to the hackers system waiting online. The hackers can virtually take over the control of the users system. The strategy has been designed by the cybercriminals into targeting both types of users, those who are customers of Amazon & regularly buy from their website as well as the non-amazon customers. The regular customers will check these mails with a view of tracking the details of their orders. The non amazon customers will surely panic to receive such mails & immediately try to open the link. Amazons name has been targeted many times in the past by the hackers with implementing malware attacks. Such techniques of masking the name of credible sources on the net with integrated malware has become a common practice in addition to phishing campaigns.
