Hacker Performed DDoS Attack on Security Researcher’s Website! See What Happened Next!

DDoS attacks are very common in this era of internet. It is not a new thing if a DDoS attack has been performed on a top website by the hackers. According to a blog post of NSA (National Security Agency), they are monitoring more than 100 Million cyber-attacks daily. Therefore to protect websites from cybercrime, Cyber Security is a must. In this post we will talk about a particular case.
ETA (Electronic Tribulation Army) is a famous group of hackers. There are so many hackers in this group. One member of this group will spend his next 9 years in prison, because he performed a DDoS attack (Distributed Denial of Service attack) on the website “mcgrewsecurity.com”. A famous Cyber Security Researcher Wesley McGrew is the owner of this website. The name of hacker is Benjamin Earnest Nichols and he is 37 years old. He is a citizen of United States and he was living in Oklahoma City.
FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) charged a case against Nichols under CFAA (Computer Fraud and Abuse Act). Due to the DDoS attack performed by Nichols, website owner have faced a loss of more than $8000. He will recover his money from the hacker but Nicholas had done many other crimes. He had a website with the fake domain name which look likes Wesley McGrew’s original website. From this website he was harassing the Cyber Security Researcher by putting his edited pictures on fake website. Nicholas was stealing pictures from McGrew’s original website and after doing their editing, he was misusing his pictures. According to a statement of Wesley McGrew, once he got a parcel of adult toys, which were ordered by Nicholas from his fake website. Nicholas was using a bot for replying people on the behalf of Wesley McGraw.
After the Investigation, FBI cracked all the network which had been set by Nicholas against Wesley McGrew. FBI told, Court will sentence prison of 10 years to Nicholas for all the crime which he had done.
